We’re delighted to announce that from today, we’ve started ride-hailing operations in the German capital! Our mission is to make urban travel more affordable, convenient, and responsible — and we cannot wait to see Berlin moving with Bolt.
Along with providing low-cost, hassle-free trips for Berlin riders, we’re also offering fairer earnings for drivers as we launch in Germany.
Let’s take a closer look at how…
Offering Bolt drivers fairer earnings, which allows them to support their families and fulfil their ambitions, is at the centre of everything we do. This is why Bolt partner companies only pay a 15% commission on the trips carried out by their drivers
Compared to other ride-hailing apps on the market — who charge up to 30% commission — Bolt drivers take home more, thanks to our significantly lower commission fees.
In accordance with the current legal situation in Germany, Bolt only works with licensed car rental and cab companies whose drivers have a valid passenger transport license. As a platform, Bolt acts as an intermediary between drivers and passengers.
“We always strive to offer the most affordable prices to our customers, which is made possible thanks to our lean business model.
In addition, we have been committed to profitability and fairness towards drivers from the very beginning. Our goal is not only to offer drivers higher revenues per trip, but also to ensure a high demand due to competitive prices, and to ensure that they earn a higher income in this way.”
Laurent Koerge — Country Manager, Bolt
At Bolt, we believe that our safe, convenient rides should be accessible to everyone. To make this happen, we make our rides as affordable as possible. The starting rate of a Berlin Bolt ride is €2.00, the kilometre rate is €1.25, and the rate per minute is €0.28. The minimum ride price is €5.
And to make things even better, if you sign up with Bolt, you’ll get a 50% discount on your first 10 rides!
